The 2027 Anarchists United
Writers Discovery Fellowship
APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2027 PROGRAM OPEN DECEMBER 1, 2026.
The Anarchists United Writers Discovery Fellowship is a six-month program providing an immersive introductory experience to the world of the TV ecosystem. Each Fellow will be assigned a seasoned industry mentor who will guide them by way of script development and career advice, and by the end of the program, introduce them to television producers and executives who align with their creative voice. The mentors will support the cohort through each step of the creative and networking process.
The Fellowship also includes informational panels with TV professionals, By the end of the program, each Fellow will have developed a submission-ready television pilot, been afforded multiple opportunities for networking, and be generally equipped with the essential tools for their success as writers in long form storytelling. Each Fellow also receives a $10,000 stipend.
Making television in 2027 looks very different than it did when this Fellowship first launched in 2021. In response to Hollywood’s shifting landscape, Anarchists United expanded last year’s program scope to also expose our Fellows to emerging, nontraditional long-form storytelling avenues, while remaining rooted in traditional television pathways. This year, the program will continue to explore new media opportunities, including the creator economy, indie television, and emerging media platforms. As a new addition to our program, our Fellows will be asked to create something literally from nothing. We will challenge this year’s cohort: How can you tap into untraditional modalities to forge digital exposure for your project, all with a budget of zero dollars?
This program operates in alignment with Anarchists United’s mission to champion artistry, equity, and diversity across film and television. By promoting voices that have been historically underserved, the Fellowship will enrich both the professional lives of the Fellows and the dynamic quality of the entertainment industry.
